So, my iSight has stopped working in Photobooth and iChat.

But, interestingly enough, it still works in Comic Life, which I opened on a whim one day.

    The mic still works perfectly.

    Macbook, running 10.4.11.

    :( What could this be?

    Renaissance Festival/ SCA Garb
Hey There! My husband says that he is done with the Renaissance Festival, and wants to sell his garb. He is a larger guy, roughly 270 lbs, and a little over 6 feet if that gives you any idea of how large the garb is. The costume is still in great condition, and is very clean. The items are original Felix Needleworthy (sp?) http://www.needleworthy.com/. I guess he is kind of a big deal in the MN Rennaissance Festival circuit. Anyhow here are some pictures of the Garb. I am asking $50 for all of it. I am not going to embarrass myself anymore by trying to figure out what each of the items are called. I know the leggings are Lane Bryant leggings....so if you are in desperate need of pants for this outfit they will work...if not then I can goodwill them.

Now that I've installed the updated driver...
    the printer won't print.
I've looked in and completed the steps of removing and re-adding the printer, unplugging and replugging the USB cord, restarting the computer, and tried to get the Printer Utility to figure things out. It seems that my computer can't establish a connection to the printer. It's an HP 2200 AIO series. Before I updated the driver, I could print.
    Any ideas?

    Audio help
I'm running 10.5.4 on my Macbook, and I'm having an issue with audio either in the laptop itself or Itunes. The audio plays very low, to where I can barely hear it until I have the volume all the way up. I seem to remember making an adjustment for "small speakers," but I can't for the life of me remember where this option was.

Any ideas on how to fix this or what I need to be looking for? I've checked my audio settings and they're set to Internal Speakers for output, so... I'm not quite sure what I need to do.

    Thanks for any help!

    Migration woes
I'm trying to set up my laptop for college by transferring my files from my PowerMac G5 to my Macbook, via Migration Assistant and a firewire cable.

I go through all the motions of connecting the firewire, restarting my G5, etc. The symbol shows up on the G5 screen and the Macbook says it is waiting for the discs (or whatever it says). My G5 makes lots and lots of noise for about ten minutes and still does nothing, the screens on both computers stay the same and it seems like no connection is being made. Finally I give up and unplug the whole thing to try again. (I've tried about three times now.)

Sorry if I'm not making much sense, I hope I'm getting the message across? What am I doing wrong?

    Places for Volleyball
    Hey all.

My church is having a volleyball tournament coming up, and a bunch of us were trying to locate a place to have practice. Only thing is, the only time everyone can practice is at night (after our night services). Do you guys know of any good spots, either indoor or outdoor, near the Boulder Station area. Preferably free (so most likely outdoor), doesn't matter if it's sand or blacktop, and would definitely be great if the area is well-lit.

To be more specific, around this area. TIA, guys/gals!

    the bigger picture
Hi everyone! I need help. I would like to watch a video that is posted online, but there isn't a full screen option on the video or anywhere on the website. Is there a command that I can use to make it full screen myself? I have a macbook, if that makes a difference.

    Thanks.

I've got a problem that's got me stumped:

I have a 1.83 core duo macbook, and the battery is supposed to give me about 2 hours of battery life.

I say "supposed to" because usually that's how much i get out of it with normal use, but from time to time (its happened twice already), the battery somehow jumps from giving me 2 hours on a full charge to giving me 20 minutes.

Now i know the battery is physically fine, because the last time this happened, after about a week it just randomly switched back to giving me 2 hours (i didn't reboot or anything). Now it's doing it again, and it's a pain in the ass to keep this thing plugged in all the time.

It doesn't slowly go down to 20 minutes, either. One minute it's showing 2 hours and then the next it just jumps to 20 minutes.

I've been looking at activity monitor and top and haven't found anything that's eating cpu cycles to make it drain faster. I dunno if this is a software or a hardware issue because I've never seen anything similar.

Have any of you fine folks seen something like this before? I'm probably going to take it in to the apple store since its still under apple care, but I figured I'd check here first to make sure I'm not just missing something.

    Thanks!

    More Cat
My cat, he has clown feet.

I broke the mounting tabs off of my 18-55 kit lens and its in for repairs now. I'm shooting things, timidly, with the bazooka-length telephoto lens. I took a jpeg of my car for my Fuelly page with it, and I had to stand back like a quarter mile to get just the little bit in the shot.

so today i got a bug up my butt and decided to rearrange my home office. i put my desk in the corner of the room so the entire room is open now for.... i dunno... any new arcade machines that might make their way to our house around my birthday or christmas *nudge nudge wifey* :P

part of this move included moving the primary router and cable modem to the living room so the xbox is now directly connected to the cable modem (thus eliminating any connectivity issues preventing me from playing multi-player rock band) but when i moved the modem out to the living room, it couldn't get sync with the upstream signal.

i thought it might have been my APC coax surge protection or perhaps the splitter nuking the signal. after about an hour of trouble shooting, installing a 2-way amplifier and so on, i was finally left with checking the connection coming from the street to the garage.

i go out there and on the 3-way split there are these -GIANT- RF choke/filters on two of the three lines (the one without one was going to my office, where the modem worked great before). anyways, long story short i remove these RF filters and BAM! cable modem syncs up.

    go fig!

    Font question
I've got an eMac and I'm running OS 10.4.11.

I downloaded a bunch of free fonts some time ago. Since then, bold text in any font in various apps shows up as teeny-tiny Asian characters (not sure whether Chinese, Japanese, or something else). I tried deleting all Asian fonts from the Font Book but to no avail.

I should mention that this happens in Safari, but wasn't happening in Firefox 2.0. However, today I upgraded to Firefox 3.0 and this is happening on a lot of websites, including Wikipedia. Argh.

I asked someone on my flist who's a Mac owner. While she didn't have a solution, she did mention that fonts are stored in four different places on OS X, and that I would have to delete them from all four places.

I'm just wondering if there's a solution that wouldn't involve getting rid of all the free fonts, because some of them are really cool.

    TIA.

    Mac Joysticks...
I’d really like to get a joystick for my Mac.

Ideally I’d like to get a Saitek, but I’d be interested in any information other people have on joysticks generally and whether they’ve had any experience with Saitek models.

I have looked for drivers for PC joysticks to make them run on a Mac and I found GamePad Companion but I’m not sure if this helps at all.

Any and all advice is appreciated.

    Font problem
All of a sudden my mac doesn't recognize my postscript fonts! I go to the Fonts folder open them up and double click for them to open in Font book and they open in Text edit! WTF is going on?!!!!! I open Font Book and none of my House fonts are loaded nor does it recognize them. I am going to freak out here people, I NEED these fonts to work for freelance that I have to finish! Honestly I dont know what happened. They worked fine before! Any advice here - another font manager or program or is a setting off - would be greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone. I wanted to do some advertising in here for my dad, so I hope this is allowed.

    "tip"
I was wondering if there was another term for tip used among the employees of a casino hotel.

For example, if someone worked as a dealer at a casino -- and they get paid "tips" via their payroll, is there another word?
    Like "tote" or something alike...

    Cracked plastic/good laptop sleeves?
    I have two questions.

1.) The plastic on my white MacBook is cracked where the laptop closes. I have AppleCare; how long should I expect to be without my computer while the plastic is replaced? Hours? Days? ADDITIONALLY, will they replace the keys on my keyboard that are all scratched up? The MacBook is the only computer on which i've had problems with the keys getting scratched by my nails.

2.) What is a good laptop sleeve I could buy for my computer? I'd like it to be as inexpensive as possible, but still effective. It doesn't really have to be complicated, just protective, because I'd be putting it in my bookbag.

day 1 of official work day that i am not going to work on :P
it's 11:00am and i'm currently laying on the couch with a sleeping cat in his tree and a dog passed out on her bed.

i'm not saying that the house operates on a schedule when jenn and i are at work... but it seems to be in some form of synchronicity with our work schedules :P

jenn has her orientation thing today for the credential program so i'm left to my own devices today.

    my todo:
    - cancel jenns old sirius head unit
    - cancel showtime
    - make sure the cable modem isn't still on the "turbo" plan (who needs 15mbps down, SERIOUSLY!)
    - go over to state farm and add the new car to our policy (or call.. we'll see)
    - see if local michaels is having a special on framing (so i can finally get these vintage disney posters framed and hung in the hall)

also, our gift card week i think will begin wednesday night with ruth's chris then perhaps azul in downtown la jolla on thursday or friday. we also have enough free movie passes to see a couple this week so i'm thinking perhaps a matinee of perhaps tropic thunder and something else.

i'm thinking about sending out christmas cards this year. probably do something cute in iphoto with the pets and then order 20 or so cards. we'll see. i'm not a fan of the whole process but it's fun having them around the house during "that time of the year" (which is actually coming up on us!).

we bought this lawn patching stuff from home depot that made of like recycled paper, fertilizer and grass seed. i laid it down and it's just looking like a cow that ate some newspaper shit on our lawn.. without any grass actually growing out of it. i know there are some bands of pre-fertilized grass seed that i've seen on TV but i'm not sure.

any dog owners have experience patching their lawn after pee burns??

we used this one brand we got from our local pet smart but the grass itself doesn't seem very tolerant of traffic as some of it is already dying off.
